About Hermosa Beach

As its name implies, Playa Hermosa is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. It is located in a small bay with an excellent ocean view. Most of the activity is concentrated in residential complexes, so it is very quiet and safe. For several years Hermosa Beach has been awarded with the Ecology Blue Flag. For this reason many people enjoy coming here. The scenery counts with many great shadow spots across the beach where you can have a picnic during a sunny beach day.

Playa Hermosa is an excellent place for people who like to observe all kinds of tropical animals like congo monkeys, all type of lizards, colorful and exotic birds, and even armadillos.

Almost every morning and afternoon, Congo´s Hostal counts with a great natural show, when a big family of about 25 congos traverse the hostel and camping area hanging their tails on the trees.

A couple of minutes from the hostel are two small minimarkets, cash machine, mini-golf, and several restaurants. The local government maintains a clean beach all year round and a trail across the beach in front of the sea and also has concrete tables where you can rest, prepare you own barbecue or drink a cool beer.
